Prom Hairstyle: Lisa Rinna Prom Hairstyle

Most girls dream about prom as often as they dream about their wedding. You got your prom dress, shoes and all the necessary accessories for this prom night, and now wonder what prom hairstyle to wear on this important night. Why not think out of the box this time with Lisa Rinna Sassy Prom Hairstyle.

Lisa Rinna’s hairstyle is the epitome of the popular sassy and tousled look. Here we’ll tell you how her hair is cut and how to style your hair to look just like hers.

1. Cut this hairstyle for both fine and thick hair. Curly hair or hair with slight natural wave that can be blown dry straight will be easiest to style like Lisa Rinna’s.

2. Leave top layers longer so you can smooth them towards the front. This cut will work best if it is done via a razor cut to get that choppy feel to it. If the layers are too blunt they won’t blend and move as well.

3. Leave the bangs long (below the eyebrows) and wear them piece-y but full on the forehead.

4. Cut the sides with a razor but shorter than the top layers. The sides should be roughly to the bottom of the ear.

5. Cut the back to where the top of the shoulders meet your neck. This too is cut via a razor so you can create that sexy flip.

6. Apply a smoothing serum to towel dried hair to style your hair like Lisa Rinna. Be sure to distribute the product evenly throughout the hair. Using a wide toothed comb to comb the hair after applying the product helps get it everywhere.

7. Using a flat brush, start at the crown of your head and blow dry your hair forward and slightly to one side. Don’t create a definite part—this style relies on a messy and tousled look for its charm.

8. Wear the bangs super smooth and full across the forehead. You can sweep them slightly to one side if full bangs aren’t your thing.

9. Blow dry the sides down and slightly flipped back. Let the ends of your layers spike out a bit. You don’t want your sides too smooth or they won’t match the tousled look of the top.

10. Focus at the back of your hair to get some volume at the back of your head and have the hair smooth down and taper into your neck. Flick the bottom layers out by placing the brush on top of your hair and giving your wrist a twist so the hair wraps around the brush and flips up. A quick shot of cool air from your blow drier will help set the flip.

11.Use a flat iron to smooth any areas that aren’t behaving. Heat up the flat iron (hotter for thick hair, less for fine hair) and smooth sections as needed. Start at the roots of the section of hair and enclose the hair in the flat iron plates. Slowly glide the flat iron to the ends of the section and let that piece of hair cool. Repeat as needed.

12. Coax a flip like the one in Lisa’s Rinna’s hairstyle by using a flat iron to smooth a small section of hair as you would to straighten it. The trick to the flip is once you get close to the ends of the hair twist your wrist up and pull the hair out slightly from the head as you glide through the last couple of inches of hair. Let the hair cool before touching it again.

13. Finish up this hairstyle by rubbing a small amount of styling wax through your hair to separate the layers and add definition. Place hair as you want it with your fingers and give your hair a light spray with a medium hold hairspray.

Prom Hairstyles: Prom Hairstyles for Less?

Have you even felt like being ripped by paying $45 for a trim. I always consider this is basically too much. That’s why I always think of ways how to keep low maintenance hairstyles.

I have friends even can tolerant to get their haircut once every 4 months with simple hairstyle.

Ladies, if you can't resist being a diva about the coif, just know that average prices will run you over $600 each year for highlights, cuts and product. There are several ways to chop your hair budget and still retain your chic, shaggy bangs.

Get a Student price

Students need practice before stepping into a salon as a certified stylist. While this may make you nervous, think about it for a minute — students will take the most care and time in giving you a great cut.

They are more willing to pay attention and focus than many stylists who've been in the business a long time.

Get trims from discount stylists

Before you snub your nose at Super Cuts, take note that even beauty magazine editors will visit the discount stylist between major style changes. As long as you have a good cut working already, ask for a "trim of the exact same style." They already have a good "map" to follow.

Preserve the quality and not quantity of your hair

Wash your hair every other day, even if you work out. Most shampoos have chemicals that strip many of your natural oils and leave your hair dry and brittle when used every day. Your hair doesn't need that much processing on a regular basis.

Choose styles that easily maintain

Short hair is cute, but cute costs. Longer styles don't need as much maintenance. Select a stylist who can give you a good cut that won't need a six-week check up. Go for mid- to long styles with layers.

Don't color your own hair

Those cheapy boxes at the drug store do occasionally fail to match the actual color to the box. You won't find out until the final rinse that Strawberry Fields was marked as Bold Brunette. Plus the chemicals are more abrasive than salon mixtures. If you need to splurge, do it on color, not the cut. Fixing a disaster will cost far more than a professional color job done correctly.

Seek samples of product

Just as at the doctor's office, you can score shampoo, conditioner, and gel products from salons and department stores. Ask around to find out what new products are being marketed to try a packet. Take one or two and be thankful, not a handful.

Buy product in bulk during sales

At the beginning of the school year and just before or after Christmas, the discounted shampoo/conditioners gift sets go on deep discount. Most sets also include a travel-sized hairspray or smoothing gel as a bonus.

Stock up during these key times of the year to get your favorite products at bargain prices.

3 Simple Steps to Straight Prom Hairstyles

Do you want to straighten your wavy hair without damaging it with a straightener? Then a blow dryer is your answer. Here are a few quick tips to make your wavy hair, not so wavy anymore.

1. Add some heat activated serum onto your hair, or even some anti-frizz serum. These work miracles, you just need to do this before you start drying your hair.

2. You must dry your bangs first, however, if you have a cowlick, it might be pretty hard to get your bangs all the way straight, but that doesn't mean you cannot try. Hell, a little natural wave can look pretty good though. You will need to take a round brush, and brush your bangs down while you point the dryer at your bangs. Please be careful, and keep the dryer at least 6 to 8 inches away, or it might just burn you.

3. Now, if you want volume, just flip your hair upside down, and brush it while you dry. However not everyone wants volume, at least not all the time, then just take sections at a time, and brush it with the round brush, while you dry.

It's pretty much done now, however, you do not want to brush your hair for awhile, if you do, it's going to get frizzy, and you may lose the straightness in the process. Now, keeping this style for as long as possible, such as most of the day, will most likely require you to apply some hairspray.

Now do you see how easy it is to get your hair straightened without resorting to a hair straightener? It is quite easy isn't it? Now you will never have this problem again, you'll be able to switch back and forth from wavy and curly, to straight anytime you want.

Prom Hairstyles: Hair Extension

How is it that some girls have great prom hair, and other girls don’t? It all depends on how you take care of your hair, and what you use on it. It is not easy. We all know how important it is to look good, and have the latest trend even on our heads. There are a few tricks you could try to get the hair style you want but most importantly, it is always a good idea to take good care of your hair and try to find a great hair doctor to help you with it! By hair doctor, I mean hair stylist at a salon. Most are very knowledgeable and can take a dried out frizz-ball, and nurse it back to a healthy beautiful head of hair. I am guilty of having my own hair doctor, and I am very happy I do!

A few tricks to try and are highly recommend, not to mention fun, quick and easy, are to find some hair extensions to match your natural hair color. It is highly suggested to take a close girlfriend or family member to the store to make sure the extensions match your natural color. That is actually the easy part. The more difficult part is to make sure when using them, it is not too obvious there are any extensions in the hair by making sure the clips are hidden well. The only thing to do in this situation is to play with the hair. An extra helping hand and set of eyes won’t hurt either. This experiment would make for a great pajama party to learn how to use them with other hair-extension girlfriends!

There are a few different kinds of extensions to pick from depending on what you want to do. There are individual "chunks" of hair you could buy to just clip or glue onto strategic places where they are needed, or there are more expensive pieces that pin up on half of the head. There are also colorful single “chunks” to purchase at beauty supply stores, but not all carry the colorful strands. These are great to match up with your dress color or for a more rock star look. They can also be used every day for fun to spruce up any hairstyle or outfit. I am also guilty of using them on a regular basis!

It is not impossible to have a beautiful healthy hair style for prom or any other occasion. Just keep in mind that it does take a little bit of time, effort, and money. If you’ll be trying to style your hair yourself, it is always a good idea to prep ahead of time and have an extra set of hands to help you out and an extra big mirror. Don’t wait until the last minute either. Doing your homework and shopping around for hair extensions a few weeks ahead of time, will help greatly if you choose to go that route. So, take care of your hair, and good luck styling!

Prom Hairstyle: How to Take Care of Your Curly Prom Hairstyle

Curly Prom hair can be beautiful. But as anyone who has curly can attest to, there is a fine line between Nicole Kidman’s beautiful curls and a Bozo the Clown do. Follow these steps so no one will confuse the two when they check out your head.
  • Invest in a good prom hair cut. Find a stylist who knows how to cut curly prom hair. Depending on your style, layers are usually a no-no for curly prom hair. You should have your hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Purchase the proper styling tools, shampoos, conditioners and styling products. There are several products that are created specifically for curly prom hair.
  • Shampoo your curly prom hair every other day. The natural oils in your hair help keep the curls smooth. Curly hair can get frizzy if washed too frequently.
  • Condition everyday. Even if you do not shampoo, wet and condition your prom hair. Use conditioner on the ends rather than the roots. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Deep condition every 2 to 3 weeks. This will help keep the rough shaft of your hair smooth and pliable. It also helps prevent split ends.
  • Use a pick to comb out wet hair—never a comb. Curly hair is fragile and needs to be handled gently. A pick moves through curls and tangles easily, without stretching or breaking the hair shaft.
  • Add the correct styling product to your hair, depending on your purpose. A serum will help keep your curls tight and shiny. A mousse or gel will keep the curls stiffer. A straightening solution will make your curls wavy rather than springy.
  • Utilize a diffuser every time you blow dry your hair. Never blow dry completely. A diffuser helps distribute the heat and air, keeping your curls tight and composed, rather than frizzy.
  • Keep your hands away from your hair throughout the day. The more you touch and finger your hair, the more wiry it will get.

Hairstyles Tips: Looking for Hair Extension?

By Lance Thorington

Women everywhere take great delight in changing their hairstyle. This often means a trip to the salon for a cut, perm, or style. Special occasions seem to intensify the need to choose a special hairstyle.

While it is easy to have hair cut off, sometimes it is preferable to add length to the hair for certain styles. Hair extensions make it possible to do just that. Most hair extensions require one to a series of visits to the salon to have them installed properly by professionals. Clip in extensions are a do it yourself alternative that enable a woman to style her own hair and make it longer at home with professional looking results.

Clip in extensions can be made from either genuine human hair or synthetic fibers. The ones made from human hair cost more than synthetics but have some preferable qualities.

Clip in extensions made from hair can be colored, styled, and otherwise treated exactly as a woman would treat her own hair. Color matching is more perfect than most synthetic extensions and the human hair extensions will last up to a year while the synthetic ones are only good for about two months.

Clip in extensions made from synthetic fibers cost less than human hair extensions. They may not be as durable as genuine hair, but they do have some qualities that could make them worthwhile. Hair has a tendency to go limp in wet or very humid climates. Synthetic extensions are made with a "memory" of the shape they are supposed to hold and maintain that shape regardless of the weather.

They must be treated carefully though. Synthetic hair extensions will be irreparably damaged if one attempts to color treat them the way hair is color treated. Curling irons and other styling tools that use heat may be harmful as well.

Regardless of which material is used to fashion the clip in hair extensions, the design is ideal for the woman who wishes to make a major change to her hairstyle for a short time without long term commitment.

Most salon applied hair extensions use some form of chemical bonding to attach them to the hair fibers. Clip ins can be added and removed at will by the woman wearing them. This versatility makes clip in extensions the preferred method of women who like caring for their hair themselves.

Hair extensions have grown in popularity over the last few years. The ability to add back length and volume without damaging hair further makes them a readily available resource for women who have taken on a short hair style, but desire to do something requiring longer hair for a special occasion or they decide that short hair is not right for them and do not want to wait for it to grow back out.
